Picture Journal: February 1, 2012 (Hourly Comic Day)

February 1 is Hourly Comic Day. Basically, the idea was to create a a comic every hour, on the hour. I think I did pretty okay.

AKIRA Fan Art

Ink, Watercolor, Digital

Shamefully I still haven't read Akira (only watched the film version), but Otomo Katsuhiro has been on my mind lately so here's Kaneda. Also I wanted to draw someone with a distinctive jacket.

Here's the paper version:

Picture Journal: January 26, 2012 (Successfully Drinking)

I don't really drink, but since I've decided to start learning to cook and enjoy all the awesome foods in the world I thought it was important to expand my palate. Hopefully it doesn't come across as a "HEY GUYS I DRANK ALCOHOL," story.

Shamefully I haven't been doing this as often due to lack of time. I've been trying new things out and reading mostly. Plus there's been a lack of interesting story topics, which seems contradictory since I've been trying new things out. But I'll get back on updating more.

Also if anyone is in Downtown Santa Ana Friday, February 3rd for the art walk I'll be contributing a piece to the weavver gallery, so stop by! Otherwise I'll have it up shortly.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Lisbeth Salander of the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Just read the book and loved it. Though I drew her much too tall.

I also drew a few more things because I've barely drawn anything (with analog media) the past month. I've gotten pretty bad and apparently forgot about anatomy.

Midori from Norwegian Wood I guess. Still haven't gotten around to watching the film though the book was p great.

Some inking. The After Pope thing is a cover of Paul Pope drawing.

And some more junk.

Patina

Patina, mixed media on watercolor paper, some Photoshop

This was a piece I contributed to the Weavver Gallery for the last Fullerton Art Walk. There are a number of things I would change if I could.

Picture Journal: December 7, 2011 (L.A. Jazz/My Birthday)

And just so I don't seem like a total loner, I did eat with friends and family at the following places in the following days: Lola Gaspar in Santa Ana, Mitasie 3 in Huntington Beach, and Full Moon Sushi in Costa Mesa. All were tres bien.
